Every Mom needs a doula

Doulas do not provide medical pregnancy care.  That is responsibility of the Midwife or OB/GYN.    The doula suggests positions and comfort measures that may help to speed up a slow or painful labor and may act as a a liaison between provider and parents helping to interpret confusing medical terms or situtations.

 Research shows that women who have the continuous support of a doula who is not related to her or empolyed by her birthing institution, are much less likely to end up with a c-section.  They even use less pain medicine and have fewer interventions.  Having another women who has not only birthed her own children but who has also learned comfort measures to assist others is a wise decision.  

 For 17 years my HypnoBirthing moms and dads have choosen to have me at their birth as a knowledgable support person. Since we've trained together throughout pregnancy and we are all "on the same page" with your birth preferences and the gentle Hypnobirthing language, I am in a unique position to support you throughout your birth.  I do not take the place of your loved one. 

 I have been trained in special techniques and positons to help free up room in Mom's body to allow the baby to  do their part to birth easily and I'm currently training with the Body Ready Method as well.

I consider myself a holistic birth advocate.  A woman's body is made to birth her baby without intervention or even a lot of fuss.  Birth is not a medical event  It is a normal physiological function.    Women should be treated with respect and dignity throughout the entire process of laboring and birthing.  

Whether you are a first, second or multiple time mom, you deserve the support of a doula!

 Since your baby may come anytime between 38 to 42 weeks you'll need to make sure you have doula coverage for that month.   When you reserve my services as a doula my pledge to you as that I will be available to attend your birth during that due month.  I don't travel more than an hour away from home and of course won't plan a vacation during that time either.  For that reason I ask for full payment by your 36th week of pregnancy.

 Wendy was our Hypnobirthing instructor and doula back in 2016. She was such a big help. We were first time parents and she helped me construct a birth plan along with everything else I needed help with. The birth of our first child was not what I expected but she helped my husband and I stay calm and I thank her for that; had she not been there, there would have been more medical interventions. We welcomed a beautiful healthy baby boy and followed most of my birth plan thanks to her. She checked up on me during most of my post partum months and her placenta encapsulated pills were easy to follow and digest.
