Every Mom needs a doula

Research shows that just having a doula reduces your chances of having a c-section anywhere from 28-56% ! 

Women with doulas also request or need pain medication less than women that don't have a doula. 

Why is that? 

We've been there, done that!  I personally have attended hundreds of births.  I've learned from every one of them how to suggest positions and comfort measures that may help to speed up a slow or painful labor.   If needed I act as a a liaison between you and your provider.  Medical staffs tend to use medical language that might as well be greek.  I'll interpret for you! 

 Having another women who has not only birthed her own children but who has also learned comfort measures to assist others is a wise decision.  

 For almost 20 years my HypnoBirthing moms and dads have choosen to have me at their birth as a knowledgable support person. Since we've trained together throughout pregnancy and we are all "on the same page" with your birth preferences and the gentle Hypnobirthing language, I am in a unique position to support you throughout your birth.  I do not take the place of your loved one. 

 I have been trained in special techniques and positons to help free up room in Mom's body to allow the baby to  do their part to birth easily and I'm currently training with the Body Ready Method as well.

I consider myself a holistic birth advocate.  A woman's body is made to birth her baby without intervention or even a lot of fuss.  Birth is not a medical event  It is a normal physiological function.    Women should be treated with respect and dignity throughout the entire process of laboring and birthing.  

Whether you are a first, second or multiple time mom, you deserve the support of a doula!

 Since your baby may come anytime between 38 to 42 weeks you'll need to make sure you have doula coverage for that month.   When you reserve my services as a doula my pledge to you as that I will be available to attend your birth during that due month.  I don't travel more than an hour away from home and of course won't plan a vacation during that time either.  For that reason I ask for full payment by your 36th week of pregnancy. 

All inclusive package includes 5 week HypnoBirthing class series, 24/7 on call to attend you at home and at your birth place, and placenta encapsulation after the birth.

 I get it, hiring a doula might not fit your budget .  We're all struggling right now.  That doesn't mean you can't still have  access to support and helpful information.  You and your partner will need to get suggestions and have your questions answered during your labor and birth!  The good news is that you don't have to do it alone! 

The new Virtual Doula option is perfect with Facetime, Google Meet, phone and text.  It can go a long way to help your partner attend to you and gives us a way to talk, encourage and I can even be the whipser in your ear  when things get tough.  I saw this approach work very well during the C 19 debacle a few years ago when doulas couldn't go into the hospital with moms and dads..  You'll still have the month around your due date reserved so that when you go into labor you'll have my attention just as before.  The only difference is that you'll hear and see me and instead of having me squeeze your hips I'll tell Dad to do that instead!

 Wendy was our Hypnobirthing instructor and doula back in 2016. She was such a big help. We were first time parents and she helped me construct a birth plan along with everything else I needed help with. The birth of our first child was not what I expected but she helped my husband and I stay calm and I thank her for that; had she not been there, there would have been more medical interventions.
